THe Littel Mermaid
Upon a time deep beneath the blue sea there lived a young mermaid princess. Her eyes shone with wonder. Her heart was full of dreams. She was the child of the Sea King. She was gentle, and she was curious. She always wanted to see the world above the sea waves.
Her sisters danced in the palaces. She gathered treasures from the sunk ships. She throught of warmth of sunlight on skin. She wondered about hearts.
When she turned fifteen she went up to the surface. She saw a ship sailing under the moon. A young prince was celebrating with laughter and music. Her eyes followed him from afar. Her heart awoke with feelings she had never experienced before.
Then the storm came. Lightning hit the ground. Waves broke over the deck. The ship split into pieces. She quickly swam through the chaos. She saved the prince; She got him safely to land. Then she disappeared in the sea.
From that moment she loved him much. She wanted to be in his world. She met the Sea Witch. The witch gave her an option of legs. She had to give up her voice. The witch warned her that it would be painful and hard. The Little Mermaid agreed to it. She thought love made it all worthwhile.
On land the prince found her. He treated her well. He liked her even if she could not talk. They spent days together. They strolled in gardens and on the beach. Her eyes told him stories of courage and love.
He thought another girl had saved him. The mermaids heart felt sad. She kept her secret.
The prince said that he would marry a princess from another kingdom. He thought she was his savior. That night, the Little Mermaid chose to follow the path of righteousness. Her tongue was cut off, and she couldn’t utter a word. That was to remain mute. That became her problem too.
Her sisters were from the sea. They gave her a knife to go back to her life. She did not want to hurt people. She ran to the temple where the wedding was to take place. She went back into the sea waves at dawn. She called with her soul.
The sea listened. Magic glittered off it. Her love and honesty broke the witchs spell. She was able to speak again, if only for a brief moment. She sang; She told the truth. She freed herself.
Finally the prince saw that it was she who saved him. He felt grateful. Loved her. She saw that love does not work out when forced. She chose her path and The sea around her began to rise. She changed herself.
She became a protector of land and sea. She could walk along the beach. Swim in the waves; She bridged the gap between humans and merfolk.
This prince married a princess of his choice. Peace returned to The Little Mermaid. She learned that love begins with loving yourself.
However, her story did not end in sorrow. It didn’t end in sadness, but in change. Her story didn’t end in sadness, it ended in change. She became a legend of courage and freedom. Her song was taken by the waves. It reminded the world that sometimes the best ending is the one you make for yourself.
